Mitchell is a formally trained Director of Photography for feature cinema.

He has collaborated with international directors on narrative & experimental cinema, feature-length documentaries (on climate change for Weather Network China/USA for example), music videos, and commercials.

In addition to his native, Toronto, Canada, Mitchell has extensive experience shooting in Los Angeles– including on the large Warner Bro's Studio lots– and  now in Paris, Europe & UK.

Mitchell wrote, directed & shot "I Thought We Were Close," which was shortlisted and featured by the Toronto International Film Festival x Instagram Festival '16.

In 2013 he co-founded an Independent Creative Services Company, Three Chairs, where he directed & shot commercials, as well as designed digital media campaigns for businesses and charities– including CANFAR, Canada's largest HIV/AIDS charity.

Mitchell's photographic film work has featured cities from Paris, Los Angeles, New York, London, & Toronto.
